Riken Keiki GD-70D Fixed Gas Detector | Intelligent Fixed Gas Detection System for Toxic, Combustible & Specialty Gases
The Riken Keiki GD-70D Fixed Gas Detector is an advanced intelligent fixed gas detection system designed for continuous monitoring of combustible gases, toxic gases, oxygen, and specialty process gases in industrial and semiconductor applications. Manufactured by Riken Keiki Co., Ltd., Japan, the GD-70D is engineered to provide highly reliable gas monitoring, flexible sensor compatibility, and simplified maintenance, making it one of the most versatile fixed gas detectors available for critical industrial environments.
The GD-70D is widely used in industries where accurate gas monitoring is essential for protecting personnel, equipment, and production processes. It is particularly suitable for semiconductor manufacturing, electronics production, clean rooms, chemical processing plants, pharmaceutical facilities, hydrogen production plants, research laboratories, industrial manufacturing, and specialty gas distribution systems.
Unlike conventional fixed gas detectors designed for only a few gases, the Riken Keiki GD-70D supports more than 260 gas types through interchangeable intelligent sensor units. This exceptional flexibility allows users to monitor combustible gases, toxic gases, oxygen, refrigerant gases, process gases, and specialty gases using a single detector platform, significantly reducing inventory requirements and simplifying future system upgrades.
One of the major advantages of the GD-70D is its modular sensor design. Sensors can be replaced from the front of the detector without removing the main unit or disturbing field wiring. This greatly reduces maintenance time, minimizes downtime, and improves operator safety, particularly in hazardous or restricted-access locations.
The detector supports multiple sensing technologies including electrochemical sensors, catalytic combustion sensors, semiconductor sensors, hot-wire semiconductor sensors, infrared (NDIR) sensors, galvanic cell sensors, and pyrolysis-based particle detection sensors. This allows the GD-70D to provide highly accurate gas monitoring across an extensive range of industrial applications while maintaining excellent measurement stability and fast response times.
For industrial automation, the GD-70D offers 4–20 mA analog output, digital communication options, alarm outputs, and compatibility with PLC systems, DCS, SCADA platforms, Fire & Gas Systems, Building Management Systems (BMS), and Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD). This ensures seamless integration into modern industrial safety infrastructures.
The compact detector design makes installation easy in locations where space is limited. The bright display and LED status indicators allow operators to quickly monitor detector status, gas concentration, alarms, and fault conditions. Maintenance and calibration procedures are also simplified through accessible controls and modular sensor replacement.
Built to meet demanding industrial safety requirements, the Riken Keiki GD-70D delivers long-term reliability, excellent measurement accuracy, and dependable operation even in harsh industrial environments. Whether installed in semiconductor fabrication plants, hydrogen production facilities, chemical plants, laboratories, or industrial manufacturing sites, the GD-70D provides continuous gas monitoring to help prevent accidents, protect valuable assets, and ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.
Its combination of intelligent sensor technology, support for hundreds of gas types, modular maintenance design, and Japanese engineering excellence makes the Riken Keiki GD-70D Fixed Gas Detector an ideal solution for modern industrial gas detection systems.

Working Principle
The Riken Keiki GD-70D continuously monitors gas concentrations using the appropriate sensing technology selected for the target gas. Depending on the application, the detector may use electrochemical, catalytic combustion, semiconductor, infrared (NDIR), galvanic cell, or other sensor technologies to accurately measure combustible gases, toxic gases, oxygen, or specialty gases.
The measured gas concentration is displayed locally and transmitted to connected control systems via 4–20 mA analog output and other supported communication interfaces. When gas levels exceed preset alarm thresholds, the detector activates alarm outputs and sends signals to connected safety systems for immediate response.
